Roman has been an entrepreneur since his twenties. In 2003, he co-founded the localisation businesses Global DTP and Global Elearning—companies that continue to operate today.

The Beginning
Business skills, enthusiasm and a reason to begin.
Mewery was founded by Roman Lauš with the help of his partner Kristýna Kvardová and many enthusiastic people around them. The idea brought together Roman’s entrepreneurial experience, Kristýna’s background as a clinical biologist and a shared ambition to build a beneficial business for animals and the planet.
For Roman, the company was also the point where a long interest in exponential technologies became a practical commitment: not only to discuss how the future may change, but to help build one of those changes.

Companies and climate technology
He later co-founded the innovative real-estate company Home Institute, which was acquired by one of the country’s largest developers, and invested in the US clean-technology startup LTEOIL.
Future Port Prague
As a founding-team member and Programme Director of Future Port Prague, Roman brought hundreds of speakers to an international event devoted to emerging technologies. Studying those technologies led him to the growing field of alternative proteins.
The turning point
By 2019, the opportunity was visible. The next step was to act.
Roman began meeting founders in alternative protein and exploring the science behind cultivated meat. He decided it was time to move from organising conversations about future technologies to creating a company of their own.
